A NIGHT TO END YOUTH HOMELESSNESS

Why A National Sleep Out?

IT’S TIME…

Daniel&SNow.png

4.2 Million homeless youth experience homelessness every year, and not much is being done nationally to stop this.

The mission of the film has always been to start a national conversation about youth homelessness.

In order to do that we need to create a national story. What better way that to get close to 500 groups to host events on the same night?

That’s what we’re trying to do.

A RISING TIDE RAISES ALL SHIPS

On November 16th, 2019 we'd like every organization to host events—sleep outs, screenings, fundraisers, etc—on the same night to raise awareness about youth homelessness.

Each organization's event and/or fundraiser remains yours. If you don't have an event planned, or have never done one, but still want to be involved, we can help you. We just want you to register with us to help gain attention to this issue.

We will provide a copy of the film for you to screen at your event, as well as a live feed with some of the celebrities and heads of some of our national partners to discuss the issues and get everyone excited about this historic event!!

Please join us and be included by the Guinness Book of World Records as we wake the country up to the plight of these youth!!!

Post a picture with the hashtag #ANightForYouth to help gain attention to the issue.

It will be a national NIGHT TO END YOUTH HOMELESSNESS and you’ll be able to interact with us, some of the celebrities from the film Lost in America, and some of our national partners to discuss the issue.

This is your way to join us and get excited about this historic event!!

Please join us and be included by the Guinness Book of World Records as we wake the country up to the plight of these youth!!!

Who We Are

Lost In America

We are the filmmakers behind the documentary film Lost in America which follows director Rotimi Rainwater, a former homeless youth, on his 6 year journey to shine a light on the issue of youth homelessness on a national level.

Lost In America is a feature documentary that takes an all-encompassing look at this pandemic highlighting issues like: human trafficking, the foster care system, youth rejected because of their sexuality, domestic violence, abuse, and more.

It also examines what many organizations, politicians and other public figures are doing (or not doing) to help these youth.

The Lost In America Team would like to give special acknowledgement to the committed

individuals and organizations that have joined the ranks of this movement.
